Hyundai Creta topped the chart with sales of around 14,000 units in August 2025. This is the sixth consecutive month that Creta has led the segment. The reason for this is its balanced engine options β 1.5L petrol, 1.5L turbo diesel and DCT gearbox. Also, the new facelift model of Creta has made the design and features even more premium.
Mahindra Scorpio has strong grip
Mahindra Scorpio N sold around 10,500 units. The body-on-frame platform and strong road presence make it a hit in rural and semi-urban markets. It is a perfect package for SUV lovers as it comes with powerful engine, 4X4 option and long life design.
Hybrid game of Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder
Grand Vitara and Hyryder combined sales of around 9,000+ units in August. Its hybrid variants offer excellent mileage to customers, which has become a major attraction amid rising fuel prices. These models are proving to be eco-friendly and practical options for urban customers.
Performance of Kia Seltos and Mahindra XUV700
Kia Seltos sold around 8,500 units this month and made it to the top-5. Its new ADAS features, 360Β° camera and updated infotainment system have increased its demand. The Mahindra XUV700 sold around 7,000 units. Its biggest USP is powerful engine, safety features and ADAS level-2 technology.
Contribution of other SUVs
SUVs like Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector, Tata Harrier and Citroen C3 Aircross also performed well. Although, its sales have been less than Creta and Scorpio but it still remains a strong contender in its respective segment.
