The audience’s heartbeats have already begun to rise in anticipation of Bollywood’s largest film festival of the year. The action movie War 2 is being brought by the formidable duo of superstars Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR, while on the same day, South megastar Rajinikanth’s Coolie is also poised to take the big screen by storm. Everyone wants to see their favorite actor win, therefore this conflict will not only be between two movies but also between two distinct fan bases and industries.
A blockbuster release on Independence Day

War 2, which will capitalize on the Independence Day weekend, will be War 2 movie release on August 14 by director Ayan Mukherjee. Alongside Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR, Kiara Advani and Ashutosh Rana also have significant parts in the movie. Pritam composed the film’s music, while Benjamin Jasper handled the cinematography and Aarif Sheikh handled the editing. The movie is the sixth entry in Yash Raj Films’ YRF Spy Universe, which is a follow-up to the popular 2019 movie War.
Budget and huge star fees
With an estimated budget of Rs 400 crore,War 2 collection is regarded as one of the most costly Indian films ever produced. Hrithik Roshan reportedly received an offer of profit-sharing in addition to Rs 50 crore, while Jr. NTR reportedly received a price of Rs 70 crore for this film. The audience has extremely high expectations for this massively produced movie.
Ticket price and advance booking craze
The cost of tickets has increased significantly even before the movie’s debut. Premium seats in Mumbai’s multiplexes cost between Rs 700 and Rs 800, while tickets start at Rs 300. Some upscale movie theaters charge more than Rs 1,000. A top recliner seat at Mezon INOX in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex now costs Rs 2,620, while a regular recliner costs Rs 2,520. Surprisingly, these shows are nearly sold out.
Box office competition
War 2 is also performing well, even though Coolie leads in advance reservations and has made nearly Rs 20 crore. By selling 1,44,081 tickets, it has made approximately Rs 4.71 crore so far (Rs 9.1 crore including block seats). By contrast, Pathan had made Rs 32.01 crore and Tiger 3 had made Rs 22.97 crore from advance reservations. Tiger 3 ended the day at Rs 44.5 crore, while Pathan made a net of Rs 57 crore. Therefore, it will be intriguing to observe how much War 2 can accomplish on its first day of release.
Audience expectations and industry eyes

For the movie business, its release is crucial. Yash Raj Films is optimistic about War 2 after Tiger 3’s lackluster showing. The combination of two megastars and the Independence Day weekend could help this movie start well at the box office. It can be difficult, though, if it conflicts with a popular movie like Coolie. In the end, how the audience responds to the first-day screenings will determine the movie’s destiny.
